Celia turned to look at her father once more. "Do you deny that you killed Sharon Lewis?"
"Of course I do. I said it before."
Celia scooped up a copy of his deposition testimony and thrust it at opposing counsel. "Let the record reflect..."

The insight into court procedure was interesting. Is that how it would really go?
Witness credibility is always relevant, so yes, that is how that ruling would go. As for the rest of it, it's the beginning of a short-form impeachment, when a witness is lying but the lawyer doesn't have the time to really draw out the torture, of they've already tortured the witness once.
