Overview #14 - the Lie

This was an interesting piece, mostly about characterization, third person limited point of view, and dialogue. At least, for me, those were the techniques I relied on most to get the lie across with as little telling as possible. The most fun lies are by far the secret agent lies, so I tried not to do too many of them. Some are lies I like to play with all the time and which would be fun to effectuate in real life; some were plot moment experiments. Overall, it is interesting to see what both of us considered a lie. The other interesting twist was noting how the lies were characterized. On the whole, there was little condemnation of lying, which was unexpected. Perhaps writers are at least as morally ambiguous as lawyers.
