Project #27: Characterization in an instant

You have 100-500 words to demonstrate characterization in a single instant. Start with a single, simple scenario and have one character's reaction to it. In the next post, have a different character (original character, of your own making) react to the same scenario. Take the opportunity to explore what each character would do, how each of them is formed, how they think and feel and what makes them act the way they do. Don't tell too much, don't overdo backstory and details - just show us, in a moment, what makes your character who he or she is.
