Ronon off his Game

Ronon growled in frustration as John landed several blows in rapid succession. It was just nonsense, stupid Earth nonsense about bad luck, he did not believe in such things, but the evidence seemed to contradictory. It was not possible that an innocent act could cause any of this to happen. And yet John had scored three of the last five sparring matches.

Not only that, but McKay was actually making sense to him, that in itself was a bad sign. He also had not hit a single target dead center the whole day. Ronon had even gone as far as to see Dr. Keller, to see if she could determine some sort of illness that could cause him to become suddenly uncoordinated.

Ronon found himself back in the infirmary with a broken nose. Teyla had opened the one door in Atlantis that swung rather than slid, and had nailed him in the face.

Later when Teyla came to see him she did not see him in his room until a slight sound gave him away. Bending over Teyla looked under his bed and saw him curled up in the fetal position.

He swore to himself that he would kill the next black cat that he saw.

(The characters are all from Stargate Atlantis. Ronon is a big guy, weapons expert, and also an expert in combat, not afraid of anything... that type of guy.)

Hah. This was pretty funny. Well done, leaving the superstition to the end. The only thing that struck me as off was "nailed" as a word because it didn't fit with the formal prose you used even for his point of view (which was a great choice). I don't know the fandom, but that was cool.
