“This is all your fault,” Ox said.
Rat perched on the bank of the river and cleaned his whiskers with delicate paws, shrugged innocently. “How?”
“You couldn’t even figure out how to lie to Lion?” Snake asked.
The rest of the Animals were scattered across the garden while Lion had a long chat with the Kitchen God about being the first animal in the calendar for the humans.
“I didn’t want to,” Rat said.
“She could have eaten you,” Rabbit pointed out.
“She didn’t,” Rat said.
Tiger shook her head. “Two big cats in one calendar? That’s a terrible idea.”
