Dance

It's raining outside again. I love the rain. How it smells, makes the world look clean I love how it obscures the city; in a way it's protecting, it hides me. I don't understand how people can say they don't like the rain. If you don't like it, why live in Seattle.

Training my fingers down the glass, I sigh in contentment, watching the rain beat down on the window.

"Come on Ari; we have work to do," David said, tugging on my arm.

I shook my head in response. "Nope."

"But..."

I grabbed David's hand a pulled him along with me. I opened the front door and drew in a deep breath. The rain made a gentle hiss on the pavement.

I pulled David over to the lawn, and drew him close.

"Dance with me."

Some of your punctuation is idiosyncratic, but this came alive for me. Arianna was a real person here, plus dancing in the rain is pretty awesome and romantic. Your verb tenses get a bit mixed up, too, but this is really an excellent snapshot of what goes on in Ari's head.

I think I'll probably stick with Ari the rest of the week to really try to develop her voice and character.
